At the heart of the Touareg R50 is Volkswagen’s award-winning 5.0-litre V10 TDI engine, uprated from 313 PS to produce 350 PS at 3,500 rpm.

Volkswagen at IAA 2007: 8 Premieres

Volkswagen TiguanVolkswagen will present its widest product range of all time at the International Automobile Exhibition (IAA) in Frankfurt (13th to 23rdrd September).

Europe’s no. 1 will be presenting over fifty models on view in Hall 3.0 – eight of them world premieres.

One of the highlights: the Tiguan – an entirely new generation of SUV developed to complement the Touareg.

And if all that’s not enough: Volkswagen will respond to the official motto of this year’s IAA – “see what’s driving tomorrow” – with a prototype.

Golf sales increase worldwide

Golf sales increase worldwideThe Golf is Volkswagen’s best-selling model worldwide and sold more than 300,600 units during the first six months of this year, equating to a sales increase of ten percent against the first half-year of 2006. Some 61,500 units were sold in Germany alone, corresponding to a rise of 5.7 percent. The second-largest “Golf country” is the United Kingdom, while the Golf’s biggest overseas market is the USA.
