Mazda2 delivers impressive fuel efficiency thanks to a weight reduction of nearly 100 kilograms and world-class safety protection.

Mazda Motor Corporation has announced that the new Mazda2 was awarded the five-star maximum rating in the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) adult occupant protection safety test. This is the second five-star score from Euro NCAP awarded to a Mazda vehicle; the first was given to the Mazda5 (known as the Premacy in Japan) in September 2005.

Nissan Motor Co.’s brand new X-TRAIL SUV was awarded four stars out of a maximum five for adult, as well as child, occupant protection by the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP).

Following the safety lead set by the Nissan Qashqai - which received the highest score for adult occupant protection ever by the independent crash test organization - the X-TRAIL scored especially well in child protection, underlining its role as an ideal family vehicle. X-TRAIL is one of only two vehicles on record to score 43 points for child protection, the maximum yet achieved in Euro NCAP tests.

July 4th is the big day for Fiat’s new 500 - that’s when it gets launched, 50 years to the day after the tiny rear-engined 500 that this version is inspired by appeared. It goes on sale here at end of the year, and we reckon this picture gallery reveal a car well worth waiting for. Prices will start from around £8000.

However, we learned that Fiat are very happy about 500×500 online booking initiative. All 500 units of the fiat “500 wants you edition” were sold out in 5 hours and 45 minutes. One every 40 seconds!
